2. Activate your Student Portal Login

You will receive an email with a link to activate your student portal. Once you establish your account, this will be your go-to spot for tracking your admissions progress. 

3. Complete the items in your admissions checklist

Admissions next steps will be available for you to view in your student portal once your login has been activated. 

That's it! The admissions team will help guide you through the entire process!

3. Complete the items in your admissions checklist

Admissions next steps will be available for you to view in your student portal once your login has been activated. This will include items to submit like your resume as well as financial aid documents and instructions on how to requst an official transcript. If you would like to upload an optional portfolio or letter of recommendation, you can also add those here. It is perfectly fine to send the additional materials later to complete your file if you need to. After all of your documentation is in, we will schedule your interview as the last item on the checklist.

IYRS programs are small by design. IYRS makes its admissions decisions on a rolling basis, and we suggest you apply as early as possible for your desired program and term. Once your application checklist is complete, the admissions committee will review your file and send you an admissions decision through your portal. As programs fill, applicants will be assigned to a waitlist or may defer to a future term.  

Explore financial aid and scholarship options 
You can explore options for financial aid and scholarships, including federal loans & grants, IYRS scholarships, and external scholarships. Explore financial aid and scholarship options.

Enroll and attend
We look forward to welcoming you to campus for student orientation! 

We host new student orientation in the fall for each of our four programs (Boatbuilding & Restoration, Composites Technology, Digital Modeling & Fabrication, Marine Systems). We also welcome new Marine Systems students in the spring for the 6-month program which runs twice a year.

4. Ask one of your IYRS instructors to write a recommendation on your behalf

You will see this item in your student portal once you've created your login and filled out the application.
