Networking Opportunities During COVID-19 - A Letter to our Industry Partners

March 25, 2020

Dear friends,

We at IYRS hope that you are staying safe and healthy during this challenging time. There is no doubt that we are all dealing with the effects of this new reality. While we recognize that some companies may possibly be closing or at least pausing, we still want to support you and your company if you are looking for employees.

At the end of each program, most of our students will be seeking full time employment. Our Career Development Department seeks to connect students with potential employers looking for talent.

In response to the current health crisis that is restricting in person contact, the Career Development Department is facilitating alternative methods of connecting employers who are interested in meeting our students. If you are seeking to hire full time employees, or if you would be willing to host an IYRS student for their end of program, month-long externship, please consider connecting with us in the the following ways:

Send a Job Description and Company Bio to Mollie Williams, Manager of Career Development. Mollie will share your opening directly with students via the IYRS Job Board on LinkedIn and the student email newsletter. The Career Development Newsletter is sent weekly on Wednesday.

Offer a Lunch & Learn session to our students via Zoom, a web conferencing site. This is an opportunity for you to share who you are, what you do, and your job opportunities, if any, with a captive, interested audience. We can set this up any day of the week that is convenient for you. Contact Mollie Williams at least one week in advance of your preferred date.

Interview Students via Phone or Video Chat. If you are in a position to hire, let Mollie Williams know, and she can compile resumes for your consideration. Upon review, you can select students to interview via phone, Zoom, Skype, Facetime--whatever your preference is.
