Experience the composites manufacturing process

The IYRS School of Technology & Trades Composites Technology program is ideal for recent high school graduates, military veterans, and established industry professionals seeking a career change or upskilling in composites or advanced manufacturing.

Our Composites Technology program provides a strong foundation in composites manufacturing by teaching both the “how” and the “why” behind industry processes. Students gain a deep understanding of materials, methods, and real-world applications used in modern composites production.

This knowledge-driven approach helps accelerate career growth, preparing graduates to move quickly from entry-level roles into higher-level positions.

The program’s goal goes beyond job placement assistance—it is designed to develop skilled professionals who become future leaders in the composites industry.

Teaching the "why" behind the "how" of composites technology in the heart of Newport, Rhode IslandThe strongest, lightest structures known to mankind are created from composite materials. Composites are a combination of fiber, such as carbon or glass fiber, and a polymer resin that are used to create high-level engineering structures such as aircraft, high-performance boats and cars, sporting goods equipment, and a multitude of other products.

IYRS Composites Technology is a full-time, 9-month program that progresses from the fundamentals of composites to advanced aerospace fabrication with career possibilities in the marine, aerospace, motorsports, sporting goods, medical, and other industries.

IYRS's Composites program teaches critical skills—including CAD software skills, composites repair, and mold-making techniques.
