Located in the heart of Newport’s historic district, IYRS School of Technology & Trades is a non-profit, post-secondary experiential learning institution. Our 3-acre harbor front campus houses amazing facilities with traditional and state-of-the-art equipment. Our mission is to empower students through immersive, hands-on learning to realize their full potential in careers and in life.
IYRS offers four certificate programs for people interested in careers in the marine trades and modern manufacturing. IYRS students are passionate about thinking and working through hands-on learning to develop skills and problem-solving abilities. IYRS was named a Best Maker School by Newsweek Magazine in 2021.
Primary functions and purpose of this position
The Marketing Manager is a pivotal member of the IYRS team, responsible for advancing the school's brand, driving fundraising initiatives, and fostering enrollment growth. This role centers on crafting compelling content that resonates with prospective students, donors, and the broader community. Working closely with Admissions, Academic Programs, and Development, the Marketing Manager will strategically develop and implement marketing campaigns, ensuring increased inquiries, applications, and enrollments. Preferred candidates will have experience marketing to, and understanding the post-traditional student demographic.
Requirements
Major responsibilities:
Content Development & Campaign Execution
- Spearhead marketing content creation for educational programs, fundraising, workshops, and events across various mediums, including written content, multimedia, email campaigns, PPC, and SEO.
- Manage and optimize the school website, ensuring engaging content, visitor interaction, and SEO effectiveness.
- Oversee the creation and management of pay-per-click ad content in collaboration with vendors.
- Coordinate social media strategy to enhance the IYRS brand, generate leads, and drive registrations.
- Develop and manage video/photo shoot calendars, along with content strategy.
- Design and create event marketing materials and school signage.
- Effectively manage external vendors for graphic design, photography, videography, print, PPC, etc.
Marketing Strategy, Monitoring and Analysis
- Develop and execute a comprehensive annual marketing calendar, aligning campaigns with enrollment and revenue goals.
- Collaborate with the PPC vendor to review and optimize prospective student lead-generation campaigns.
- Work closely with Admissions, Development, and other stakeholders to create content supporting their objectives.
- Review and analyze email campaign results, making data-driven adjustments to optimize performance.
- Stay abreast of industry trends to execute timely and effective multi-channel campaigns.
- Assist in planning and implementing special events throughout the year.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in content creation, marketing, or communications, demonstrating positive campaign ROI.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Expertise in creating and executing marketing strategies across various channels.
- General understanding of web data analytics, SEO, and pay-per-click campaign management.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to work independently.
- Experience with tools such as Google Analytics, Finalsite, Hubspot, Adobe, Constant Contact, Sakari, Wistia, and/or YouTube is desirable.
- Budget creation and management skills, with the ability to generate progress reports.

Salary Range and Benefits
- Salary range $75,000 - $85,000, based on experience
