"Being a hands-on learner who was looking to get my certifications in marine electrical work, coming to IYRS was a pretty easy choice for me. I worked as a fisherman in Monterey, California for 5 years, but fishing is a tiring way to make a living.
I still wanted to work around boats and the ocean, but I was looking for a career I could see myself in long term. I knew plenty of people in the marine electrical business who were willing to hire me, but they said ABYC and NMEA certifications were needed. After exploring different ways to get these certifications, I found IYRS."
